Tried any variation of formats (h264,mpeg,theo,wmf) and various container-files (MOV, ogg, avi) But am not able to insert e video in Writer of Impress. Keep getting the message: The format of the selected file is not supported.

not reproducible under Win7x64 using LibO 4.2.3.3
specify your O/S and try resetting the user profile (backup first)

I run into this problem on Windows 8 and on Mac Os X (10.9).
