showing the title in LibO and word 2010

I downloaded the .docx file found at < http://download.microsoft.com/documents/rus/microsoft4you/How_to_license_the_operating_system_Windows_8_new.docx > and opened it in Kingsoft Writer and then saved it as a doc file. Then i opened the saved file in LibO and the title text is set to Arial 10pt, rather than being Segoe UI Light 10pt, and the word 'Windows' is supposed to be 20pt. Tested on 3.6 - 4.3.

When I open the original docx file in LO 4.2.5.0.0+, I get the right font.
The problem is clearly in Kingsoft Writer when it export the docx in doc. Please report the problem to this software.

Closing as NotOurBug.
Best regards. JBF

It is OurBug if word 2010 opens the converted kingsoft writer .doc correctly and LibO doesnt, which is what is provided in the attached jpeg file.

I confirm the issues you report in screenshot under Win7x64 using LibO 4.2.3.3

for the record the reporter tests were done under Linux Mint.

Comment 12 Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) 2017-09-29 16:50:36 UTC
So the 'Document Title' paragraph style is being imported as Arial 10pt rather than Segoe UI Light 20pt. Once this is corrected the 'Windows 8' text issue is solved.

I don't think LO needs to aim at handling error correction exactly the same way as Word. If Word 2003 modifies the fontsize (reduce, then reset to 20) and saves the file, then LO opens it fine.

The WPS version is full of messages like
w/source/filter/ww8/ww8par2.cxx:3966: ::Import1Style[Document Title]
sw/source/filter/ww8/ww8scan.cxx:906: sprm longer than remaining bytes, doc or parser is wrong

Good point, let's close.
