Problem description: Ctrl + z crashes LibreOffice Writer after ctrl + backspacing letters or words and leading whitespace in front of said letters or words Steps to reproduce: 1. Type a number of whitespace characters - tabs, spaces, or a combination of the two (NOT NEW LINE CHARACTERS). 2. Type a number of regular characters. For example: " asdf" 3. Ctrl + Backspace EVERYTHING. The letters/words AND the whitespace characters. 4. Ctrl + Z 5. Should experience "!!br0ken!!" and LibreOffice Writer will crash. Expected Behavior: Obviously, you should be able to ctrl + z and get back the characters and their leading whitespace without it crashing. I discovered this upon attemping to format SQL queries in a LibreOffice Writer document. Operating System: Ubuntu Version: 4.2.3.3 release
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I don't reproduce this. But there's another bug that I put in See Also which may prevent to reproduce it. However, I don't reproduce it too with 4.2 sources updated some days ago. Could you give a try to brand 4.2.4 LO version?
It exists also in windows 8, Version: 4.2.2.1 Build ID: 3be8cda0bddd8e430d8cda1ebfd581265cca5a0f Ctrl + Backspace, Ctrl + z and CRASH
Hello Nick, *, I can confirm this bug with LO Version: 4.2.7.2 Build-ID: 933c0aa564ec4f8883ed5732c866db48dca4dac5 (parallel installed, following the instructions from https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel) with installed Germanophone lang- as well as langpack, but cannot confirm it with LO Version: 4.3.3.2 Build-ID: 430m0(Build:2) (Debian's own version) nor with Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: 1baad070d8c2a38581cf33d803c5043f1974647f TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86@45-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2014-11-01_00:19:59 (also parallel installed) on Debian Testing i686 ... :( As your version (4.2.3.3) is rather oldish and 4.2.7.2 is the last released version for the 4.2.x series, would you be so kind to test it with a newer version of LO, please? Does it work for you there? TIA and have a nice evening Thomas.
Hello Nick, *, I have tested it again with LO Version: 4.2.8.2 Build-ID: 48d50dbfc06349262c9d50868e5c1f630a573ebd (parallel installed, following the instructions from https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel LO Version: 4.3.3.2 Build-ID: 430m0(Build:2) (Debian's version) LO Version: 4.3.5.1 Build-ID: 8fd0451cc08e6a5310bed8b7ad1c46b93c1c6889 (also parallel installed) and LO Version: 4.4.0.0.beta2 Build-ID: be92f32b8f21603a6b7a75dd645f7475bdee519d Gebietsschema: de_DE (parallel installed, as above) on Debian Testing i686 (all with Germanophone UI and help installed). None of them crashes, when I follow your instructions. Would you be so kind to test it with a newer version than your reported 4.2.3.3, please? TIA and have a nice evening Thomas.
