Description Urmas 2014-05-18 12:39:12 UTC
When starting screen is displayed, the large green bar with app buttons does not accept dropped files, which is rather inconvenient.

Hi Urmas,

Thanks for filing the request. I guess d&d to the pane with recent documents does work for you too?
Cheers,
Cor

I get the appeal, but the work involved to correctly implement this enhancement across GUI(s) for all supported OS and DE makes this rather unlikely to be pursued.

Adjusting component to correct ux-advise--is this a reasonable feature set for a 4.4 target?

Of course if any devs see this as a fun project with merit it might move quickly.

Sounds rather useful. Lets hope Kendy (or so) has some free cycles to work on this.

@ Stuart: How do you know this is as hard to do as you think? The right side of the window already correctly accepts DnD'ed files, why should it be all that hard to do the same for the left side?

Let's reevaluate this.

UX Team -- please take a look at this enhancement. Thanks!

Would never drag 'n drop anything onto a dialog or a button. And there is no good reason to do so as double click opens the document in the appropriate module. What is your use case?
