I created bug 79110, but the problem with crashes in LO 4.3.Beta1 seems to be much bigger, at least on Windows XP.

LO 4.3.Beta1 crashes with virtually all files I try to open with "File" -> "Open". I tried this with several .odt and .svg files. They all crashed, even very simple ones (e.g. a few lines of text in .odt). With very simple files, LO crashed only after open them a second time.

I'm having the same problem as Gerry on windows XP SP3. LibO 4.3 beta 1 is crashing when i open a document. There was a mailing list discussion about this same thing < http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Running-LO-4-3-alpha-in-Windows-XP-tt4107585.html > for bug 77891 and as Christian suggested that disabling the auto spell check would help and it did help in 1 file i tried but didnt on another file i tried.

This is the same Python 3.3.3 related issue of language tools as with bug 77891, working on other Windows builds, not functioning on Windows XP. See bug for work around for testing.

beta1 builds for windows on http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/win/x86/ have been replaced with a fixed version if the problem still occurs after deinstalling the old beta and reinstalling the fixed one, please reopen this issue.
