Insert Toolbar 4_1 vs 4_3b

If a toolbar cant fit in the available space, an arrow shows at the end so that you can get access to the buttons that are hidden. But opening it in 4.2.4 and higher, it will also show the hidden buttons of the toolbar.

hidden icons not shown in 4.1.6.2, shown in 4.2.0

happens not only in writer but all applications

does anybody know if this is an intentional change?

sp this is a deliberate change:

commit 3e7879998bde20d5d6540ef989ecfd850be97b08

Show hidden toolbar items when window size is decreased

When the Window size is reduced, the '>>' symbol thus appearing
must also show the items, that are provided by the toolbar but
are not shown because they are unchecked in Tools->Customize.

although i'm not quite sure that it's a good idea, since hidden
items were probably hidden by the user for a reason...

Kendy, please close this as NOTABUG if you think this is right.

After submitting this, i did think that it might have been added there on purpose as i saw visual changes between 4.2 and 4.3, but still i think its not good to have it as toolbars to the right of it (i.e. the standard toolbar) doesnt have a similar feature to get access to the hidden icons in its toolbar.

Yes, this change was intentional.

The toolbars overall would need many more updates, but currently we are doing only small changes, as the large infrastructure changes needed there would need much more concentrated effort.
