Presently if your right-click on an image, you have the option to 'save graphic' but this exports the image into various formats. I think it would be useful to be able to export the image in its original format to a new file, where the user just needs to set the file name. Presently the only means for me to get to the original file is to open up the xml file or convert a non-xml file to odt and then open that.
Valid request - by default when you save an image (export it) it has no default selection for the extension and leaves it to the user to "guess" at what the original extension was. I agree that it's best that the original extension is selected by default and then users can change if they choose to do so.
Wasn't it that images are all internally stored as .png or .jpg ?
In my experience, they are stored in the original format they were embedded with because if not, then image quality wouldnt be preserved.
