Since there won't be any LibreOffice for Windows RT (restriction of the Metro/Modern UI and the Shop), I think we should support the Impress Remote at least for that platform!
What do you mean port it? You mean make it available on phones that have Windows installed on them?
yes, phones (Windows Phone) or tablets (Windows 8.1, especially the ARM based solution "Windows RT" as this won't run LibreOffice as there is still no jail break :-( ) Moreover Microsoft doesn't charge any license fees for the Windows Phone OS any more and thus many new phones will be released featuring Windows Phone in this autumn.
Valid enhancement request, so set status to NEW. It does not mean that a developer will work on that. Best regards. JBF
Windows 8.1 applications are quickly fading into irrelevance as the new Windows 10 “universal apps” platform is being pushed (and a large amount of upgrades is expected since the OS will be free-of-charge for a year) For the record, Windows RT is irrelevant already. I propose to retarget this bug to request the creation of a Windows 10 universal app, once the developer tools mature into their final versions (there are beta releases as of this writing).
Can you quantify that statement at all? I know for sure I won't be upgrading to Windows 10 - even if they paid me to do it. Windows 8.1 is enough of a nightmare for me, not interested in introducing a new series of bugs, workarounds, and headaches. So before saying Windows 8 is irrelevant - I'd like to see some proof that the OS that will be supported for some years still is now irrelevant.
(In reply to Joel Madero from comment #5) > So before saying Windows 8 is irrelevant - I'd like to see some proof that > the OS that will be supported for some years still is now irrelevant. Joel: Don’t confuse RT and 8. These are different beasts. And RT is, as I said, dead indeed. http://www.theverge.com/2015/2/3/7974759/windows-rt-is-dead or use Google It makes sense to create a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app instead.
9 years later, even more irrelevant
