Description Aurelien 2014-07-29 13:57:35 UTC
Hello everyone, I have some issue with a document containing arround ~50 differents images (from png files), 16 pages and a lot of groups made from those images and various shapes. The file size is arround 5Mb. Almost every time i edit the file, i randomly lost one or more images (i got a blanc rectangle with three red dots in it).

Please take a look at my working file (see attached file)
The missing image is a pressure cooker, on page 1&15...

I did an update to the last version of my libreoffice versions (both on windows and ubuntu system 4.2): no change. I mainly used my file under ubuntu but also did some changes on various computers running windows with same problem.

So, is there a work arround to avoid those disappearing images ? I guess it might be linked to the huge amount of elements in my document maybe ...

Please let me know if you miss some detail about that bug.

Initialy, i asked this question here before filling a bug:
http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/37398/images-randomly-disapear-in-libreoffice-draw/

And i found that someone has the same problem on older version.

Hi Aurelien, please take a look at Bug 46447. I wonder if you're reporting same problem.

If you mind testing daily build: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ and report the result here.

Hi Christian,
Thank you for your support. The bug you mentionned is exactly the same as my report here (sorry i did not found this report before filling mine). So i'm gonna do some test with latest daily build and go back to you.

Hi Christian,
I'm back. I did some tests with my file and tried even to make it bigger with more images and pages and no more image loss. I edited several time the file with no issue. That's great !

LibreOffice 4.2.5.2 continues (if at all possible, worse) to forget images imported into diagrams (i.e. Draw), documents, and presentations.

For Draw and Impress, this makes these applications totally unusable. After loss of a half-day's work (as well as a catastrophic webinar two weeks ago), I am switching to M$ Office (or, if I can find them, regressing to LO 3.x)/Vi$io.

This bug is a show stopper. Worse of all, it fails in some of the most public (i.e. giving a webinar, presentations at professional societies) venues.

This is broken!

Never confirmed by QA team - moving to UNCONFIRMED.

@DRC - please refrain from useless comments like "this is broken" - doesn't help anyone. Thanks

This may be q duplicate of bug 82953.
The workaround is to disable auto-saving.
