This is specific to Mac OS X users and concerns how the entries in 'Recent Documents' menu are listed. 1. Launch LibreOffice. Start Center shows up. In addition to the recent documents opened shown in the Start Center one can access them by going to the Menu Bar. Recent Documents there are shown as a list of filenames. 2. Close the Start Center. Switch to another (any) application and switch back to LibreOffice by using the Cmd+Tab method. Start Center will not appear. LibreOffice menu bar will have fewer entries. Recent Documents accessed from this point are displayed with the full path of the file, obscuring a large portion of the filename. Expected behavior would be to display a list of filenames whenever the user accesses the Recent Documents menu.
Can not reproduce with LO 4322 on OSX 10.9.5 For example, I see 12 recent documents in Startcenter. If I close this, the switch to Firefox, then cmd-tab back to LO, I see the same 12 documents in my recent files list.
Please try with a latest production release and a clean user profile and report back. At present, this is worksforme.
Please see the attached pictures. I too see the same files listed in both the situations. The issue here is that in one case only the file name is shown where as in the other the entire path of the file is shown. The entire path of the file is not required unless there are two entries that are identical. My LibreOffice version is 4.3.1.2 which I think is the latest production build.
Created attachment 107889 [details] Only filenames are visible
Created attachment 107890 [details] Entire path is displayed
Well 4322 is the latest production build available, but that probably won't make any difference. I suspect that this might be working as designed, but would need to check.
It won't be an inconsistency if it was designed that way, I don't remember now whether this was a deliberate decision.
It would still be inconsistency... one would expect 'Recent Documents' to be listed the same way irrespective of which situation it is accessed from. It is entirely possible that it is intended to be that way. In that case I wonder what the reasoning would be behind that. From my standpoint I think it should just list the names of the files without the path unless there are two entries in the list with identical filenames but different locations. If it matters at all, that is the behavior in Microsoft Word 2011 for Mac.
Should be UNCONFIRMED.
OK, I see what you mean now. Setting as rfe. Changing title.
Version: 7.5.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 2a7fcaf582df3ada57ca519b50e29011973a1b6f CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 12.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx Locale: de-DE (en_DE.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Peristing. Things have changed slight as to how LO behaves: 1. Open LO, see StartCenter 2. close StartCenter (cmd+w) 3. switch to other application and back to LO (cmd+tab) First thing I notice: even after closing StartCenter with cmd+w when switching away and back to LO, I always see StartCenter re-appearing. That is different from the orginal report and a much saner behavior which I like. Secondly: in this scenario the files in "Recent Documents" always show without file path. However to REPRODUCE it is sufficient to: 1. open LO, see StartCenter 2. close StartCenter (cmd+W) 3. look at File > Recent Docuents Currently: the file path is indeed shown, which should not happen.
