I wanted to switch the paragraph language. I went to the status-bar and left-click, on the menu I have the options of "Portuguese", "None", "Reset" and "More..". When I click "More..." it shows me to a dialog called "character" where there is no option for language. Going to menu "Tools-> Language -> For Selection-> More..." or "Tools-> Language -> For Paragraph-> More..." gives the same result, no option for language.
The window that shows is "Character" with tab "Font Effects". The correct must be: window "Character" with tab "Font" by default.
I can confirm this behaviour. The Character dialogue seems to appear always with the selection of last used tab. It has no 'dynamic' default tab selection according to the context from where the dialogue was rised. LinuxMint 17 Cinnamon LO 4.2.4.2
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated yesterday, I don't reproduce this. It opens Character dialog but on first tab where we can see languages. Could you give a try with a recent LO version (4.4.1)?
