Hello Veek, Has this issue happened in previous versions running on olvwm? Are you using the open source or proprietary graphics drivers? Do you have compositing running on the window manager?
hi, to the best of my recollection - nope. i used to run 3.x on wheezy and as best as i can remember i could resize without a problem. this seems to have crept in in 4.x which is what i'm using via backports. all my drivers are open src, gimp renders fine and most other apps - kdenlive, k3b, xpdf. I'm running this on an Inspiron 1545 laptop so no high performance gfx card with proprietary drivers. I 'm not sure about compositing - but when I restart the olvwm it gives you an option via the menu) that fixes the problem whereas 'refresh' doesn't. Also, I can cycle through windows and overlap windows without any problem but if i resize the window by dragging the corners then it breaks.

So are you still on wheezy now and have you tried any other 4.x releases? > all my drivers are open src, gimp renders fine and most other apps - > kdenlive, k3b, xpdf. Is this correct? > I 'm not sure about compositing - but when I restart the olvwm it gives you > an option via the menu) that fixes the problem whereas 'refresh' doesn't. > Also, I can cycle through windows and overlap windows without any problem > but if i resize the window by dragging the corners then it breaks. Just to be clear i understand you, if you have compositing off the problem inst there but with it on, the problem is there?
Yes I am still on Wheezy. I've tried a grand total of two versions: LibreOffice 4.2.5.2 420m0(Build:2) - from the Backports repository Libreoffice 3.5.4.2 - from the 'main' repository I use this for video: Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) GM45 Chipset: "GM45" I don't know if this is a 'composting' or 'stacking' Window Manager. There are no options that I have enabled/disabled that affect composting or stacking - the WM simply works as is after apt-get install olvwm.
It's a stacking WM: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olwm
I noticed olwm is discontinued so it will be impossible to get support from that side. Have you considered switching to a similar one like awesome, dwm or FVWM? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stacking_window_manager#X_Window_System
