I can play the sound file when clicking on the "notes" page where sound file is display then clicking on arrow to make it "go". But when running slides, no sound...?
Can you try with a newer LibreOffice version? You’ve specified you’re using 3.5.4, which is an old, unsupported version.

I can confirm this bug on Linux with LO 4.2.6. When I add a .wav audio file to Impress, it freezes for a pair of minutes and takes very long time to reproduce the audio.

In 4.2.0.4 and 5.2.0.4, I get "format not supported" when trying to insert a .wav file. (tried with https://download.samplelib.com/wav/sample-3s.wav) In 6.0.0.3 and 24.2.4.2, it works for me in both edit and presentation modes. Version: 24.2.4.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 51a6219feb6075d9a4c46691dcfe0cd9c4fff3c2 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.5; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Testing on Ubuntu 22.04. Can someone who was affected by this (Linda, Teo or Buovjaga) please test again in 24.2?
Comment 9 sounds like enough data to close as WFM. I don't have Ubuntu installed anywhere at the moment. If original reporter and testers can still repro, they can set back to NEW.
