Description zerianis10 2014-08-17 08:55:38 UTC
Problem description: If text is longer than 1 page in web view changing zoom size crashes Libreoffice.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a document in web page view that is longer than 1 web page.
2. Try to change zoom from default of 100% or have it saved in the document that zoom is larger than 100%.

Current behavior: LibreOffice crashes out, going into a document recovery loop where it keep on reloading the document, crashing and then restarting.

Expected behavior: LibreOffice should adjust the zoom percentage and text size without a crash.

Operating System: Windows 8
Version: 4.3.0.4 release
Last worked in: 4.2.6.2 release

Hi, I don't reproduce using 4.3.0.4 and Ubuntu 14.04 - left as unconfirmed - Sophie
Comment 2 zerianis10 2014-08-20 14:05:23 UTC
Because you are on Ubuntu. This is a problem with Windows 7 and 8/8.1. For goodness sakes, read the platforms this is on before you mark something as unconfirmed.
Comment 3 sophie 2014-08-20 14:07:42 UTC
Please do not confirm your own bugs, it should be confirmed by a QA team member. And the tests on other platforms is also part of QA work. Thanks for your understanding of our workflow - Sophie

Large lorem ipsum ODT document (532.000 chars)

Writer crashes after Web layout switch (zoomed > 100%)
Comment 7 Robo Pluhar 2014-08-22 07:38:31 UTC
I have similar (or the same) problem with longer document, zoom > 100% and Web layout.
Writer had worked like charm untill 450.000 chars (Libre office 2.5.2 Xubuntu 12.04, X86). After adding some text, Writer started crashing.
I upgraded Libre office to 4.3.0.4 (still Xubuntu 12.04, X86) and it crashes short time after document opening.
The same problem I have on another computer with Libre office 4.3.0.4 Win7 64b.
See the document in attachment (Large lorem ipsum ODT document (532.000 chars)) - it crashes after switching to Web layout (zoomed > 100%).
In Print Layout there are no similar problems.

Hi Robo,

Thanks for the sample.

This time I see the problem with LO 4.3.0.4 and LO 4.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: eddd7646d672ea9b0561dacb09da224d098e531e
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2014-07-18_06:42:50

I don't reproduce with LO 4.2.7.0.0+
Build ID: 92216be6ce13990b8ea6b6264c656d2bc1746401
TinderBox: Win-x86@42, Branch:libreoffice-4-2, Time: 2014-07-14_16:21:42

There's no need to do anything. Once switched to web layout, Page number decrease to around 80 and application crashes.

I set status to NEW.

Work around:

In tools > options > view

Turn off hardware acceleration and anti-aliasing.
Use OpenGL
Force OpenGL
