Using LO under WinXP shows the format menu too small with the text inside too wide - so that parts of the text are not possible to read. Its not so easy to choose when not possible to read completely and not possible to widthen the window to make it readable completely. This was better in earlier versions.

The same behavior here in LibO V 4.1.0.4 (Win7-32) AND in LibO V 4.3.0.4 (Win7-64).

Same here with OpenSUSE 12.3 64bit rpm Linux.

Problem apperas first in LO 4.0.0.0beta1 here. The preview of styles is introduced with LO 4.*. So no regression, never worked the right way.

Have set the version to the fist 4.*, which appears in the listfeld above.
