Description Harald Koester 2014-08-29 11:33:31 UTC
Problem description:

Since Version 4.3.0 the option "Support assistive technology tools" during installation (only Windows) is no longer necessary (see bug 80332). A user told me, that he came to know about the accessibility functions of LO only by chance because of this installation option.

Hence to my opinion generally it should be more pointed out, that LibreOffice comprehends several functions in order to support users with Impairments/Disabilities.

Solution:

That means for the installation process that there should be again a hint according the accessibility functions. For Windows I propose to integrate this hint into the installation dialogue during the genuine installation process, anyway the user has to wait at this point. This hint could be improved, if it is highlighted a bit and if a link to the accessibility page of the LibreOffice website is integrated into the hint.

For Linux and Mac OS there should be similar hints during the installation. I'm not familiar with Linux and Mac OS, hence I don't know how to integrate this hint into the installation process.

sounds good for me, in other software I have also already seen hints about new or interesting features during their installation process, this could also maybe extended to other important or interesting news / information
