Description Francis Tyers 2014-09-01 06:13:45 UTC
We are working on a spellchecker[1] for the Kven language[2] at Giellatekno. Would it be possible to add Kven to the list of languages in the language selector ?

2. http://www.ethnologue.com/language/fkv

There is an option to mark the text as fkv-NO.
Comment 2 Francis Tyers 2014-09-01 20:40:09 UTC
Hi,

Can you tell me where I can set my spellchecker to Kven, as I don't find it in the language selection dialog box:

Kven language for spellcheck
Comment 4 Francis Tyers 2014-09-02 05:20:47 UTC
Could you give more context to the screenshot:

1) I don't see a spellchecking icon next to that,
2) nor do I see the name of the language.
Comment 5 SMoshagen 2014-09-02 06:28:43 UTC
Could you also specify the LO version for which you have fkv-NO? I am not able to find neither fkv-NO nor Kven in LibreOffice 4.3.0.1 for Mac.
Comment 6 Urmas 2014-09-02 06:33:41 UTC
These both are not required for spellchecking to work.

Probably not, but you haven't given enough information to tell us that the language is available. Yes, I have seen your screen shot, but you have given no reference to your LO version or to a commit or something else that will tell us that the necessary code is added to the code repository, and thus when we can expect it to be available to regular users - as it clearly is not available right now except for on your computer.
Comment 8 SMoshagen 2014-09-02 07:20:52 UTC
Or to put it differently: there is no fkv-NO code in

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/i18nlangtag/source/isolang/isolang.cxx
where I would expect it to be.
Comment 9 Eike Rathke 2014-09-15 17:57:22 UTC
@SMoshagen:
As of LibreOffice 4.3 you can use any valid BCP 47 language tag, see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.3#Adding_a_new_language_tag

Nevertheless, we can add yet another language to the list..
