The workbook referred to for this report

I have a worksheet with 3 sheets
I want to create a PDF document of part of sheet 2

Select that sheet and Calc status line says Sheet 2 / 3

Export PDF and, of course, it doesn't fit the page so try Format/Page
I really want to create a "continuous" output for screen viewing but I select "A4" as the only real alternative and "Scale to width/height".
"File/Page Preview" now it is reasonable BUT needs to be Landscape so set that but then I see it is too narrow because it needs to be on 2 pages. OK back to set 2 pages - now preview looks reasonable.

I can see what I want in the page preview (This says in the status line Page 1/2 - and Page 2 of 2) so I try an "Export to PDF"
This now gives me 9 pages in total - it has output all 3 sheets to the format I want only for sheet 2 - that is not particularly satisfying.

I have an alternative option in the Export to PDF - it is "Pages" - OK - I can tell it to export from what it thinks is page 2 because sheet 1 just happens to take up 1 page and print 2 pages (ie 2&3 which is my 1 & 2 on sheet 2).

I accept that there may be a configuration setting somewhere to have the Export to PDF only work on the current sheet or even to enable the "Print to PDF" feature - but I haven't been able to find it!

I really appreciate the immense effort put into LO so please don't take my comments as being over critical!
Operating System: Debian
Version: 4.3.0.4 release

So I was able to export just the single sheet fine. What I did:

Opened Document
File -> Export as pdf...
Pages set to 2
Click "Export"

Result is a single page document that is landscape and is of the single sheet. Attaching what I see.

That being said - I suggest going to the user list as you may get additional feedback or ask.libreoffice.org. I'm going to close this one as WFM.

If you don't get helpful input from ask.libreoffice or/and mailing list then come back and set the bug to UNCONFIRMED again and we'll try again. Thanks!

Yes - that works and it was as I described (ie Worked For Me too) - but
how did you know it was page 2 that was page 1 on sheet 2?
Try guessing how many pages precede the first page of sheet 3!

and - why does Page Preview say Page 1/2 when you actually exported Page
2 and got Page 1 of Sheet 2?

When I want to export all or any pages from sheet "N" I don't want to
have to work out how many pages are in sheets "1" to "N-1".
My point was that the page number relating to the current sheet to
export depends on how many pages would be generated by previous sheets
and when I am looking at a sheet and do Export why does everything get
exported?

I agree this is not obvious and it's confusing.
Export as PDF now offers as Range: All, Pages, Selection.
From Calc, it should offer the same as for Print's Range and Copies: sheets and pages.

I set to NEW.
Comment 6 Timur 2015-01-05 13:15:22 UTC
I change title from "FORMATTING: Exporting PDF from Multi-Sheet document" to "PDF: Choose sheets when exporting from multi-sheet spreadsheet"

So, I change to UX-advise. Please correct if wrong.

I am now running LO 4.3.3.2 and it all seems fine to me. Thank you.
I can't remember exactly how it used to be - maybe I have also changed my perception and understanding of all the features - but I have no problem doing all I need. Tip-Top work.
Comment 9 Timur 2015-04-15 07:35:52 UTC
Here, Export as PDF still offers as Range: All, Pages, Selection but in Calc it will print from the current sheet or from all selected sheets, and pages can be chosen from the Page Break Preview.
Seems like it can be set as Resolved, unless someone has a better idea. In general, if a specific commit/fix is not known, then it's not Fixed, but WorksForMe.
