Steps: 1) open Writer 2) go into page dialog ( Format > Page ) 3) click on area tab 4) select fill as color 5) click on page tab and notice that the color is set in the preview 6) click on area tab 7) select fill as none 8) click on page tab and notice that color is still set 9) click ok button 10) page color gets set Tested on 4.4 master. This doesnt effect any previous versions as they dont have an area tab. Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: ed95e1c5619e2cb2a8f6d93a1b7c45f36f1524dd TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86@45-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2014-09-12_11:30:45
Also should be noted that the change in the page style isnt considered an undo-able action.
Created attachment 106344 [details] undo not active in toolbar To clarify, it is considered an undo-able action with ctrl+z but not in the toolbar undo button.
Hi Jay, 1/ Area tab is background tab in previous version. I do not know why it has been renamed. Using word "Area" may be a good idea, if it was completed in "Text area" to underline the difference with the complete sheet area. 2/ undo-redo buttons are not completely inactive. Indeed if you play with the undo/redo menu entry two times, it becomes active. 3/ I do not reproduce your points 8-10, if I reset the area fill to none and click on Apply or Ok it works as expected. Tested on Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 966fe14af2c8782d7f16f732a73761a60b345bb1) built at home under Ubuntu 14.04 x86-64 Best regards. JBF
Tested and confirmed again on Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 510bb3fab28dffcdd5ff544b85063e8cc3d3f48e TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86@45-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2014-09-17_22:09:19
I guess i left one thing out from the steps which is 4.5) select a color Tested it also on Windows and it has the same problem.
(In reply to comment #5) > I guess i left one thing out from the steps which is > > 4.5) select a color Yes, of course. :-) You need to click the Apply button after 7) and before 8) Best regards. JBF
(In reply to comment #6) > You need to click the Apply button after 7) and before 8) I never did that part. :D
Hi, confirmed with Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 9aa36a1ad39e37c372cc833a44fba450b8cc30cd TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2014-10-09_04:46:44. I agree with JBF that Background was more specific. Set as New - Sophie

TESTING with Version: 5.1.0.0.beta2 on Ubuntu 14.04 (In reply to Yousuf (Jay) Philips from comment #0) > Steps: > 1) open Writer > 2) go into page dialog ( Format > Page ) > 3) click on area tab > 4) select fill as color Okay to this point > 4.5) select a color > 5) click on page tab and notice that the color is set in the preview Considering steps 4.5 and 5 together: If I click on 'Tango: Sky Blue 1' (which is already highlighted), and then click back to the Page tab, the preview does not update. If I click on a *different* color (e.g. Tango: Sky Blue 2), and then click back to the Page tab, the preview *does* update and show a blue background on the document. > 6) click on area tab > 7) select fill as none > 8) click on page tab and notice that color is still set > 9) click ok button > 10) page color gets set CONFIRMED: Page color turns blue Interestingly, if I return to * Format -> Page -> Area, the Fill dropdown is set to 'Color' * Changing Fill to 'None', then * Clicking on the Area tab shows a White (no bg color) preview * Clicking 'OK' confirms that the blue bg is indeed gone It appears that one can toggle the color between blue and white like this repeatedly. We can even enable a different Fill by changing step (4) of the initial repro steps to "select Fill as 'Hatching'".
