Before it was possible to cut a portion of cells in excel and paste it into writer, the result was a proper formed table. This function doies not woirk any longer: Pasted is a PCITURE and thefurthermore, this is NOT EXPORTED proerly as an PDF. The former function is needed and must be restored. In the now pasted "PICTURE" editing is ompossible and as siad, it is even not printed proberly.
Hi.. It's a strange issue if a copied cells become a picture while pasted. Common know problem is Bug 37223. Please provide detailed informations: - LO version & OS - exact reproducible steps - sample file with test case would be helpful Then please change status back to UNCONFIRMED
Created attachment 106616 [details] writer file with pasted xls block
Created attachment 106617 [details] excel file from which data is copied (by ctrl-c)
I had to re.install openoffice as I need that function daily...
Hello.. I'm sorry I don't understand how you could paste as formatted table using regular paste. AFAIK that should be obtained via Paste Special > Formatted text [RTF] Tested with attached file, I got same result on AOO 4.1.1; LO 4.0.6.2, 4.1.6.2, 4.2.6.3 portable under Win7 x86
Possibly what is requested on Bug 62672 could address your need?
Yes, Bug 62672 is the same issue. So you can close this and/or shift to there. "Heavy" users also use the keyboard in a text writer system, so of course the table was copied befor by ctrl-c + ctrl-v, not by fiddling with the mouse. I cant unserdstand, why that -formerly working- feature has been crippled now for no obvious reason. Though this is not the right place for the question: Where can I download the last LO version which still did cut+paste in the before manner? Otherwise I have to switch back to OO. By the way: I am using LO / OO and all predecessors even since the time it was called "STARWRITER" for DOS (made bei Stardivsion/Heiko Boerries)- so I am not unfamiliar with this family of products.
I guess this behavior always be like that since the old time. Same result with LO 3.3.0.4 and AOO 3.4.1 under Ubuntu 12.04 x86, should be inherited from OOO. Please see also Bug 32743. If you want to test OOO 3.3 or older, try this link: http://archive.apache.org/dist/incubator/ooo/stable/ Btw lets mark this as dupe to Bug 62672 and you automatically get CCed to monitor whether that request fulfilled by a contributor/dev :) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 62672 ***
this has been resolved by the work in one of the previous releases, allowing data to be copied from Calc in Writer tables.
