The file that have the bug.

Attached a .doc file, produced with Word 2003, that does not open well in Writer (tested 4.2.6.3 and 4.3.1.2, windows).

Attached the original file and the PDF obtained from Microsoft Office Word 2010.
Note particulary the first and second page, where the little tables seems desappeared.

I've also tried to save the doc in docx using MSO Word 2010, and then open in LO, but nothing changed.

Thanks.

Tested it with v4.3.1.2 & v4.2.6.3 under windows 7, ubuntu 14.04 and mint 16/17, but I can import your file without any problem.

Maybe you can reset (rename) your userprofile and see if it works: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

Using 4.2.6.3 in Win7 64bit.

I've deleted %appadata&\LibreOffice folder in my test profile, but nothing changed.

Tables are not shown because they are hidden.
They can be seen if Hidden removed from characters, or with Clear Direct Formatting, or with Non-printing Characters on if Hidden Text checked in Tools - Options - LibreOffice Writer - Formatting Aids (not by default).

MSO needs to have only Non-printing Characters on, Word Options-Display has a different logic that hidden text is included by default.

So, the remaining issue is why LO inherits this hidden status for tables from the text, while MSO doesn't.

This behavior seems different and opposite from Bug 102330 I reported.

The difference is that these are anchored/floating tables while the others are inline.
