Description danielhglus 2014-10-02 04:08:10 UTC
Both the Find toolbar and the Find & Replace dialog should include a progress count of the form "Highlighting match X of Y total" or something like that.

As it is, simply typing a term into the search text field and doing nothing besides clicking "Find" doesn't show how many times the term was found, which is not good at all.

Hi Daniel

Thanks for the idea. I think it would make sense.

Note that this enhancement request does not state what should be displayed when the user has done a Find All.

Do please remember to include a count for that case too.

You might also decide whether you'll be removing the feature of showing how much text is selected in the bottom status area.

If not, then I suggest that https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133259 should still be implemented so that piece of status doesn't have the edge case I noted.
