Description Murphy McMahon 2014-10-21 14:12:40 UTC
When working on documents whose length is greater than the vertical space of the Writer application's window, adding new text to the bottom of the document forces the user to focus visually on the bottom of the window. This is not always optimal.

It would be useful if documents (or more accurately, the document-containing window) could be scrolled beyond the current last line, so that additional work could take place in the middle of the window (or elsewhere).
Comment 1 Murphy McMahon 2014-10-21 14:22:55 UTC
(Sorry, I should have specified that this applies to when the user is editing in Web View.)
Comment 2 Robinson Tryon (qubit) 2014-12-21 23:10:57 UTC
Definitely one for UX.

(FWIW, I'll often use CTRL-L to move the current content to the middle of my Emacs buffer so I can work on it in the middle of the screen, even if it's the last item/sentence in the file.
tl;dr - I agree with OP :-)

You can easily add another page in Writer and scroll down further. If you don't like the gap between the pages you may double click it or check View > Hide Whitespace.
