Description Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) 2014-11-03 07:13:19 UTC
Presently its easy to add a bullet or numbering list through the toolbar, but its not possible to change the type of bullet or numbering through the toolbar, so users are left to open 'bullet and numbering' dialog or use the sidebar. I'd like to suggest that we add a entry in the list section of the context menu, which opens up a submenu with a list of the popular bullet and numbering list types.

Hi Jay,

No opinion here ;)
Did you consider making a pull down menu in the toolbar? That will allow to make the choice - for those not working with styles - at the very moment that they set the bullet/number.

Hi Jay,

I would agree here with Cor. Why not simply port the sidebar popup to the toolbar? (And adding this to the context menu has a downside, that you can't put a preview there, and a title like "Diamond" is not enough because you can't know how this diamond actually looks.)

Yes i had suggested toolbar drop downs in my toolbar proposal (attachment 103175 [details]), though i also suggested merging the two together. :)

Yes porting the sidebar popups would make it less important to be in the context menu, as that is what is found in most office suites (MS, WPS, WordPerfect, Google Docs, Calligra). (Of course we could always add small icons to the submenu entries to show how they look :D)

So i'm closing this and have opened bug 85804.
