As seen e.g. in Matlab figures or the matplotlib Python library plots:
I would be useful to have interactive zooming and panning (e.g. via zoom buttons, mouse wheel, dragging, ...; with 'undo').
Maybe one should also be able to define a 'default' view, which is used after loading the file and after 'resetting' the view.
Can you explain tihs a bit more? You could even provide a demo of how other software works. It's a bit hard to understand what you're requesting if we're not familiar with Matlab.
Marking as NEEDINFO - once you clarify a bit please set to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks
See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZs7bZTaKf8#t=38 for a matplotlib.pyplot demo and http://matplotlib.org/users/navigation_toolbar.html for a description.
Setting to NEW.
Also by holding spacebar and dragging with left mouse button.
I'm changing component from Chart to UI as I think this should be implemented also in Impress & Draw.

I'm not sure whether bug 90706 really is a duplicate. Panning in a Calc chart and in Impress might as well be two different beasts.
Code insiders, please decide.
