table design tab and autoformat dialog

It would be quite useful to be able to easily set the style of a table, which unfortunately is quite limited to the strangely named 'AutoFormat' table toolbar button. Impress used to have a simple sidebar 'table design' tab that was able to do this to some degree and it would be good to take that concept and mix it with the settings in autoformat to come up with a suitable sidebar tab.

Not sure if mixing some part-style solution with ... is a good idea :)
But the concept, table styles in the side bar, is OK.
Note there was a GSoC project in 2013 iirc to implement that. But alas not fully finished.

We should close this ticket as the sidebar is there. Issues are tracked in bug 101756.

Not sure what you are talking about as the bug report title is about the sidebar. Anyway we dont really need a deck and a table content panel is enough (bug 95279).
