In Calc's context menu, sometimes SID_CELL_FORMAT_RESET is labelled as "Clear ~Direct Formatting" and other times as "~Default" and it would be good to have a consistent labelling of this item. Hi Jay, Some time ago I understood from Eike that there is (should be) a difference between the menu, that operates on the cell, and the context menu, that operates on text in the cell. Have you seen that too?
Yes you are correct, i had forgotten that Eike did give the right explanation about it in bug 81132 comment 27.
Then still I wonder why both call SID_CELL_FORMAT_RESET. Probably the function works different depending on the context.
Yes it is strange to me. Ideally we should change the name from 'Default' to something more understandable like 'Reset to Cell Formatting' or something like that. I noticed 'Default' is used in textboxes in impress as well.
Reopening so the naming of the entry can be addressed.
back to UX-advise, for design/UX review.
Noticed that Impress/Draw have 'Default Formatting' in the menu and 'Default' in the context menu.
Looks like this issue was solved. Context menu always shows Clear Direct Formatting in 5.2.
