Description whomovedmywineandcheese 2014-12-18 23:36:53 UTC
When opening an existing document, making changes and then trying to Save As, the Save As dialog box opens up, then then becomes unresponsive and never works. I then have to shut Writer down through Task Manager, reopen Writer and try to recover the document, but none of my edits are ever saved.

I've had to now start any session with Writer by first opening a document and saving it before making any changes. Once I've done that, Save As works just fine. But the first command can't be a Save As.

I don't know how to get a crash report, but will try if someone wants one. Bad bug and its caused me a lot of duplicate work until I discovered the work around, but its still a pain.

TESTED with LO 4.4.0.1 on Ubuntu 14.04

REPRO Steps:
1) open an existing document,

(I used attachment 91537 [details])

2) make changes

I added a couple of hard returns

3) try to Save As

> RESULT: the Save As dialog box opens up, then then becomes unresponsive and
> never works.

NOREPRO -- Save As worked fine for me here.

Sounds good. I think we should try to get confirmation of the bug on Windows.

Hi who*,

LO 4.2 is now EOL, so it would be great if you could grab LO 4.3.x or 4.4.x and see if you can still reproduce the problem with a more recent build.

ok, once I upgraded to windows 10 the issue stopped happening. So I think it was windows releated and not libre office (and the same bug also happened in a couple of other programs over time).
