Description Harald Koester 2015-01-08 12:28:13 UTC
In order to reproduce the bug do this:

[1] Create a new text document and insert a table with 2 rows and 2 columns.
[2] Insert a word below table and select this word.
[3] Copy word to clipboard (Ctrl+C).
[4] Click into the second column of first row and keep mouse key pressed. Move mouse pointer to first column of first row and keep mouse key pressed. Both cells are highlighted.
[5] Move mouse pointer back to first cell of second row and release mouse key. Only this cell is highlighted.
[6] Copy clipboard to cell (Ctrl+V). The word is copied to both cells of first row. Expected: Word should only be copied to second cell.
[7] Delete highlighting of cell (Esc) and repeat step [4] and [5].
[8] Copy clipboard again to cell (Ctrl+V). In first cell of first row the word is added to the word inserted in step [6]. Expected: Word should not be added to first cell.

I checked this bug with other LO versions. In version 4.1.5 it does not appear but it exists in version 4.2.0. Hence a regression.

Confirming. If mouse/keyboard selection was ever expanded to the left/above the anchor cell, 1 extra row or column above/left will be chosen for the paste operantion.

Bug still exists in version 5.0.4 with Win7.
Comment 4 Xisco Faulí 2016-09-13 11:29:11 UTC
Adding keyword 'preBisect' as this regression was introduced before branch 4.4 and therefore it can't be bibisected as there's no bibisect repository for this branch.

Dear Harald Koester,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa
