(Sorry, pressed enter too soon) A similar problem occurs when opening MS Word files (doc format, edited with original MS Office). If in such a file a comment is attached to a text range, the formatting is changes. Most often the last character in the text range will get a smaller, and different font. I am not able to reproduce this, because I have not got MS Office.
