Description stu39855 2015-01-28 11:26:33 UTC
When i open a template with 4.3.5.2-2 writer and scroll with the mouse, the document becomes all garbled and unreadable. This is a regression to the still release, which displays templates just fine.

I tried this one:

http://templates.libreoffice.org/template-center/vorlage-fuer-eine-wissenschaftliche-hausarbeit-diplomarbeit-seminararbeit-bachelorarbeit-masterarbeit-examensarbeit

Thanks for you good work. I really love LO :)

No garbling observed when scrolling.

Machine 1: Debian Squeeze (oldstable) with KDE with a Nvidia geforce 5200go

Machine 2: Debian Wheezy (stable) with LXDE on a HP Pavillion dv5000 (it has ATI shared memory graphics onboard)

Error reproducable on both machines.

Hi, tried with Version: 4.4.0.3

Is fine with Kubuntu 14.10 and 4.4.1.2
Comment 5 stu39855 2015-03-15 15:31:50 UTC
Additional info:

1. I updated to latest still release ( 4.3.6.2 ).
2. I know now how to reproduce this bug every single time:

1. Open a template like this (http://templates.libreoffice.org/template-center/vorlage-fuer-eine-wissenschaftliche-hausarbeit-diplomarbeit-seminararbeit-bachelorarbeit-masterarbeit-examensarbeit)
2. Adjust view to "optimal" on the lower right.
3. Scroll up or down a bit.
4. Change view to "page width"
5. Scroll again up and down (fastly)

This bug is reproducable every time with 4.3.6.2 but NOT with 4.2.8!

Version field is the earliest affected. Reverting change.
Comment 7 Joel Madero 2015-04-28 17:23:52 UTC
No problems after following instructions.

Ubuntu 15.04
LibreOffice 4.4.2.2 release

Please try resetting your profile and try with 4.4 series

Setting to NEEDINFO as we now have 3 QA members who have tested this and not one can reproduce.

If you can still reproduce with a fresh profile and 4.4 or newer please set back to UNCONFIRMED and we'll go from there.

Thanks

Hi!

Sorry for the late reply. Im writing my thesis right now, so im very busy atm.

1. The error occurs also in 4.3.7.2 (atm still release).
2. The error occurs also in 4.4.2 (atm fresh release).
3. The error does NOT occur in (Jessie) debians own version of 4.4.3-2. (Therefore this version eats my graphics in my thesis, but this is a debian specific bug).

For 1 & 2 its not necessary to open a template. The bug will show after a while.

Another thing: Its hard to reproduce this viewing bug on other machines. I did it one single time like i said before and noticed it. But i didnt check the latest versions on those machines.

Since the debian version is higher than the one i reported my bug against, it may be that the debian packager does set some different flags while compiling?

cheers and thanks for your good work. I will stick to 4.2.8-2, which runs just fine on this laptop.

I know you said you reproduced on 2 different machines, but could you rename your profile on one of them to test, if it helps?
