Please provide clear reproducible steps as well as a simple attachment. While the video shows the crash it doesn't clearly show us what to do (specifically it's not in English). Marking as NEEDINFO - once you provide clear enumerated steps and a simple attachment please mark as UNCONFIRMED. Thanks

I can reproduce the crash though despite not seeing !!br0ken!! Marking as : New Major - crash High - default Will see if this is a regression shortly. Thanks for the clear instructions and video.
Regression - works in 3.3
So this has been a problem for years - updating version to reflect that the bug has been around since at least 3.5beta0 ('preBibisect"). Version is oldest known version that shows the problem, not latest tested on. Thanks
Created attachment 112934 [details] Linux 4.5 master backtrace I also don't see the Broken message (which I believe indicates the use-after-free of a string?), but I can reproduce the attached crash. Exact method of reproduction: 1. Create a blank new Writer document 2. Open the Drop Caps tab in the Paragraph dialog and tick both "Display drop caps" and "Whole word" 3. Close the dialog with "OK" 4. Reopen the dialog
Bonjour ! !!!Broken!!! appears in 4.2.8 but not in 4.3.5. But it crashes in both versions.
Same crash with te latest 4.4 version...
