Description David 2015-01-31 13:04:30 UTC
Platform: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Just upgraded LibO to Version: 4.4.0.3 / Build ID: 40m0(Build:3) / Locale: en_GB

After upgrade, I noticed an oddity (reversed list and out/indent icon), reported on AskLibO:

http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/45578/toolbar-list-and-indent-icons-reversed-after-upgrade-extensions-wont-install-bug/

In that process, I rebuilt the user profile (renamed old one), and then tried to install my favoured extensions. I have tried to install four now:

- Alternate Search
- Compose Special Characters
- Typography toolbar
- Template changer

None of them will install; all of them throw the same error:

    (com.sun.star.deployment.DeploymentException) { { Message = "You need write permissions to install this extension!", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @1cbccd0 }, Cause = (any) { void } }

Would like to get this working A.S.A.P.; out of those four, it's "Compose Special Characters" that I depend on heavily, and use constantly.

Hi David,
Doesn't look like that question exists on Ask LibreOffice. Could you please explain the problem in more detail?

Status -> NEEDINFO

I'm testing on Ubuntu 14.04 + LO 4.4.0.3, and I don't see anything weird regarding indentation or icons.

I just took a quick look at some extensions, and Template changer hasn't had an update in over a year. Maybe try a more recently-updated extension?

(Please change Status back to UNCONFIRMED after you test and provide more details about the problem. Thanks!)

I have continued to update LibO, and this problem disappeared some time ago. It might well have been some odd glitch in my system. I use LibO on three different machines, and only experienced this (briefly) on one.

The link to Ask.LibO goes to the deleted post: it is visible to those with sufficient reputation to see "deleted" posts.

Apologies for not updating this bug report sooner!
