Hi, Xubuntu 14.04 Just upgraded from 4.3.5 to 4.4.0.3 using the LO debian packages. In the past, the "Save File" icon has had a noticeable blue and red color when the document is modified. The current "Save File" for modified documents is a subtle purple. There is not enough of a contrast between that and the no recent changes "greyed out" version of the icon. Please make that icon have an easily noticeable color. Sincerely, Ron
You can change the icon set: menu Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View. You have several packages in your distribution to install other icons sets. Does that fix the problem ? Set status to NEEDINFO. Best regards. JBF
Created attachment 113010 [details] Example of hard to see icons Open, Cut, Copy, Enable R/W, Print, etc icons are all easily visible. The new New Document and File Save don't have enough contrast with window, though.
"Does that fix the problem ?" No. They're not very attractive looking. The Tango icons supplied with the LibreOffice .deb packages are "utilitarian functional", which is what I've always liked about them. The new versions of the Background Color, Font Color and Remove Decimal Point are improvements over the previous icons, in that they do a better job of imparting the meaning of the buttons without being gaudy. OTOH, the New Document and File Save icons are IMO a functional regression since they are harder to see at a glance.
(In reply to Ron Johnson from comment #3) > OTOH, the New Document and File Save icons are IMO a functional regression > since they are harder to see at a glance. The New Document icons should still be colorful (I don’t know why you’re seeing a blank page icon), and I’ve recently changed them to fix an alignment issue. Also, I’ve committed a new version of the Save icon to increase the border’s contrast. https://github.com/LibreOffice/core/commit/aba3c3a35a0afde16e42a94ae8cb2b1f589135db/icon-themes/tango/cmd/lc_save.png However, I don’t think we’re going back to red and blue ;-)
