I am having a problem with LibreOffice running very slow. This has only happened recently, it used to be okay. It is version 4.2.7.2, Build ID: 420m0(Build:2). My Ubuntu is 14.04 with XFCE. I have increased the graphics RAM available to 256 MB and 20 MB per object, and disabled Java. Yet when I try to type things in Writer, it goes very slow and very lagging behind what I am typing, or clicking on. It is becoming quite unusable. Is there way to fix this?
Thanks for the report. Have you checked, if there are some other processes hogging resources? Maybe you could try with the latest stable, 4.4. Here are instructions for testing: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information.
I had closed the other programs running and it still was slow. Then I noticed that there is a 4.4 version (which was not in my Ubuntu 14.04 repositories) and installed that from the downloaded files from the website. LibreOffice 4.4 all seems to run smoothly now, not slow at all. So not sure if it was a problem with 4.2 or something else.
Thanks for testing and reporting! I'll set this to WORKSFORME.
