Description code.teoric 2015-02-05 23:04:40 UTC
A Math formula with root symbol is not displayed correctly in Calc or Impress: The root ‘wedge’ is too wide and goes over the text; the bar is does not align well, either.

Attached screen shots for:

nroot{n}{ prod from i=1 to n x_n } = nroot{n}{ x_1 cdot x_2 cdot dotslow cdot x_n }

This example (and others) does not work for me with Calc and Impress, but look good in Writer. With LibreOffice up to 4.3.5, they display fine.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the original Impress document looks good on Linux with LibreOffice 4.4rc3 from the LibreOffice Ubuntu PPA: https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/ppa.

Comment 6 Alex Thurgood 2015-02-06 14:43:05 UTC
How to reproduce :
1) open new Calc or Impress document

2) Insert > Object > Formula

3) Type the formula given by bug submitter into formula edit pane.

4) Click on impress slide or calc sheet to validate insertion of object.

Works correctly in both Calc and Impress in

Version: 4.3.5.2

therefore regression

When writing fractions, only the line between numbers appears in presentation mode.
example: 3 over 4
When editing:
 3
---
 4

When presenting:

---

This worked fine in previous version.

I had bad results in 4.4.x, but it looks good to me now in 5.0.0?

which, by the way, is great!

@Josan : please open a separate bug report for this behaviour, thank you, this issue was about the display of the root symbol, which has apparently been corrected some time during 5.x developement. As the commit that fixed this is unknown, the current bug report is set to resolved worksforme.
