Created attachment 113241 [details] XSLX file showing strange rectangular shapes in all tables When using *.xlsx files with CALC, sometimes LibreOffice CALC is creating strange rectangular shapes in all tables. The attached example file is already reduced down to the problem: Each time when storing these files with CALC after any (!) change, the rectangular shapes re-appear, even when removing by either LibreOffice CALC, or MS Excel itself. If ONLY using MS Excel this effect does not occur. If ONLY using LibreOffice CALC, OR a combination of CALC/Excel, then the effect is re-produceable with the attached file.
I use LibreOffice 4.3.5.2 release, calc only, German Version on Windows 7 64 bit, and for verifying the bug I used MS Excel 2013 and MS Excel 2010 (both are part of Office Professional).
Hi Frank, thanks for reporting. Using the Navigator [F5], I see six drawing objects, a couple in front and the rest in background, deleting them, saving a reopening and I can't see them again. I have not excel to verify in it. Double click on the object name in navigator to select it.
Hi m.a., it is true that when JUST removing the objects and saving, the problem does not reoccur. You need to edit something more, for example enter some values in a cell... If I then save (my LibreOffice is automatically storing in *.xlsx format), open it, then, again, I see these drawing objects. They are always in foreground, in each table I see 2 of them. (The table was created by myself and I never created any drawings myself in this table...) As I wrote, I use 4.3.5.2 release (German installation)....maybe you can confirm with that release version? Thanks, Frank

Comment on attachment 113280 [details] Screenshot of CALC after re-opening the 2nd time after modification I took your modified xlsx file - opened with Excel, no probs, modified some cells, saved - opened with CALC, no prob, modified some cells, saved - closed the file! - opened again with CALC --> same problem....
Due to other problems I encountered, I now updated the related PC's to LibreOffice 4.4.0.3. New information now: - if using CALC only and *.xlsx format file (from previous attachment) the problem cannot be reproduced. That is the good story...but: if then using Excel in the following mix, the problem can be reproduced, even with LibreOffice 4.4.0.3: - open that changed file with Excel, no problems - change some cells, save and close - open with CALC (no matter which version!), no problems - change some cells, save and close - open again with CALC ==> same problem occurs!!! Since we had this problem due to 1 Excel user only, we switched from *.xlsx to *.ods format and we now are fine. The Excel user now is using LibreOffice as well. Since we are not sure which program has the bug, we may close this bug report. How can this report be closed? Thanks again, Frank
