Hello and excuse me if terms are not the proper ones, but I use the Spanish translation of LibreOffice. 

In 4.4.0.3 version the background color set for a text area in a paragraph style now is extended to include the space before and after the paragraph. 

I think it's a bug and anyway the final effect is much worse than it used to be.
