Video of text editing problem with cursor in Impress Mac

When editing text in Impress Mac, the cursor is not a reliable indicator of where new text will appear (see video attached). Sometimes the cursor appears in the middle of a letter, sometimes new text appears ahead of the cursor, and sometimes behind. This makes it very hard to work with Impress. The problem is not present in Impress on Linux and occurs independent of what font is used. Sometimes changing the color of some text changes the alignment of the text, which sometimes also changes the position of the cursor to more accurately reflect where the text will appear, though subsequently moving the cursor causes the problem to recur. This would be a dealbreaker if I wasn't ideologically interested in free software.

Can you retest with a newer version of LibreOffice, such as 4.4? I have a hunch this is related to bug 64957
