Every time I put my computer to sleep while working on a document (.odt) in Writer, the Writer program slows down dramatically after restarting. This happens even when the screen goes dark. It solves by closing ALL files open in Writer -so shuting Writer- and opening them again. My sistem is a Dell Latitude E6410 with an NVIDIA NVS 3100M, under Ubuntu 14.10 64 bits. I have 8 Gb of RAM and the computer works otherwise very smoothly. I'm using the NVIDIA proprietary drivers 304.125 version. Newer proprietary drivers used to be a nightmare, but now the system works fine with this driver.
Please, could you give more details? 1/ did you install the LibreOffice version provided by Ubuntu or did you install the version downloaded from LibreOffice website. 2/ what is your current LibreOffice version? There have been 3 bugfix releases since 4.4.0. 3/ what kind of document are you working on? Big documents, only few pages documents, ODF files or OOXML files, many images and/or formulas, etc. 4/ did you customized your Ubuntu installation? For example swap size, swapiness parameter, etc. 5/ did you upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04 and, if yes, did that solve the problem? Set status to NEEDINFO. Please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once you have provided requested information. Best regards. JBF
