Description alex 2015-02-19 19:12:47 UTC
Default Color Picker and Actions to Undo/Redo dialog is popping up middle of window, rather than adjacent to the control (Font Color, Background Color) that initiates it.
You then need to mouse away to another location to select color or undo/redo action -especially an issue when working on a larger screen.

Other controls with dropdown/popup pickers, such as Font Name and size, borders, bullets/numbering etc are fine. Only the Color Picker and Undo/Redo seem impacted.
It occurs with the control from toolbars or sidebar.

Repeatable 95% of the time with 4.4.0.3 in OpenSUSE 13.2 KDE, in Write, Calc, Impress (with build from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/LibreOffice:/Factory/openSUSE_13.2/). Very rarely a control will actually appear in the right place, but clicking the same control again then displays it centered in window.

Same version on Windows 8.1 is fine.

I experienced the same under KDE plasma 4 (100% failed positioning) - see attached screenshot. It did not happen (tried not that often), on the same computer, under TWM. I tried on another computer with KDE plasma 5: also a failed positioning.

It would be nice to have the window positioned like the one for the button table insertion (in Writer) is. If I remember correctly all LibreOffice versions until recently did that too with the color chooser.

Thanks bejectannt.
Good thinking, and further testing from me:
1/ I hadn't tried another WM, but can now confirm that for me in iceWM the problem does not occur either.
2/ I have just tried with a completely fresh user profile, and the problem remains in KDE for the new user, which eliminates the chances of it being a personal KDE window management rule.
3/ I have also just verified that another install with same OS and KDE versions, but with LO 4.3.5.2, behaves 'normally' with the dialog showing adjacent to the initial control, so it does seem like a change in this version, that only manifests in KDE.
