Hi I want to inform you that I have spent last several years on work with the huge odt file that contains above 1200 pages, and I noticed that LibreOffice frequently crashes when try to save it on Mac OS X 10.9.5. Sometimes, the application crashes immediately when try open it, and I didn't have this problem with LibreOffice 4.3.5. Every time, when this program crashes I lost every sentence/word what I wrote, because recovery files on LibreOffice never worked properly in this kind of situations. Can you fix it? I really like to work with this application, but the last version is very unstable on Mac OS X 10.9.5. http://pastebin.com/jMgjch8N
How big is your file ? Does it contain lots of images ? As none of us in QA are likely to have a document that long, how do you expect us to be able to try and repdocue the problem ? If you can provide your file so that we can test, perhaps we might be able to move further on this ? Setting to NEEDINFO until requested information or test file provided.
(In reply to Alex Thurgood from comment #1) Hi Alex, > How big is your file ? 300 MB > Does it contain lots of images ? The file does not contain any images but a lot simple tables, and sometimes the text is bolded or underlined > As none of us in QA are likely to have a document that long, how do you > expect us to be able to try and repdocue the problem ? > > If you can provide your file so that we can test, perhaps we might be able > to move further on this ? > > Setting to NEEDINFO until requested information or test file provided. I will try to upload it.
(In reply to gbudny from comment #2) > (In reply to Alex Thurgood from comment #1) > > I will try to upload it. I don't think you will be able to upload it to bugzilla, as it will probably be too big, even compressed, so it might be better to provide a link where we could download it to test.
Created attachment 114814 [details] Crash report (text file)
I can confirm that I am seeing the same bug. My document is 1.1 MB (approximately 150 pages) and has many objects pasted in from a LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet, as well as a few PNG files, many tables and many cross-references within the document. Unfortunately, the document has much proprietary data and I cannot share it. The crash occurs when the save file progress bar is at the far right side of the window, apparently while zipping the file. The crash report is almost identical to the one posted to pastebin by gbudny (I viewed it in Google's cache).
Additional information: 1. I have never seen LibreOffice crash when I try to open my document, only when saving it. 2. Crash only occurs with File>Save. I can do File>SaveAs and choose a new name for the file, and the document saves without crashing. This may mean that corrupt document data is not an issue. Thanks.
@rcohen : which version of OSX are you using ?
Hello Alex, From the attached crash report: OS Version: Mac OS X 10.10.3 (14D131) Thanks.
We still need a test file in order to try and reproduce, otherwise we're just clutching at straws
Mac mini Server (mi-2010) 2,66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 Go 1067 MHz DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 Mo Tested a 54Mb csv import, then save to ODS, resulting ODS file 15Mb Import : approx 5 min Save as ODS : > 10 min, proc maxes out at 100%, OSX thinks that the proc has died and offers to kill it. No calculations involved. The test file was provided by Dave Largo on the dev channel
Confirming
