Description klein.wolfg 2015-03-12 19:46:33 UTC
In former versions it was possible to define virtual printers as the the default printer, eg. tools like "gtklp" and to make LO use ONLY this printer interface when you hit the print button. This is no longer possible, now LO only recognizes printers provided by cups.

Please re-enable this feature. It is much more convenient to use a front end like gtklp for printing, than it is to use the LO printing dialog, when you need to choose special printers or settings. And it also safes you from lots of unwanted printing jobs, when you hit the printer button, but you forgot to choose the right printer first.

Do you know that you are free to not use the LO printing dialog ? The choice is made in the menu Tools > Options > LibreOffice > General.

Best regards. JBF

I do know. But choosing not to use the LO-dialog does not include the printing dialog and it also doesn't allow to set the default printing command, like it was possible using the old "spadmin".

The option not to use LO-dialogs and the default printing command are two different thinks.

Quick check with devs on IRC and this goes to NEW / enhancement.
