Description ianclever2 2015-03-25 04:22:40 UTC
This error has been tested in arch linux current version of the year, and ubuntu 4.14, which in reality is not really a bug, it's a suggestion, what happens is that when I copy a content of a web page that contains photos or something, such as the wikipedia and lap by the standard method (without converting to text) in places with very slow internet, it takes too long to respond, around two minutes, sometimes you can even sign that is not responding, thing in the office ms is almost instantaneous in the same conditions, this occurs for a long time, at least from versions 3.x (which was when I started using the libreoffice). I urge you to meet my request, and please give me an answer whether or not to consider the situation, before closing directly topic.

First thanks for listening.
Now as we requested step by step:

1) Internet with download speeds averaging between 30 Kb and 15 Kb or slightly less.

2) Any GNU / Linux distro that runs the libreoffice version 3.x or higher.

3) Copy this simple page like this (or any other that has pictures and various types of formatting):http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronaldinho_Ga%C3%BAcho

4) usually paste (Ctrl + v) on a blank document of the writer libreoffice.

From this you can see that despite the Internet speed is low, it takes a long time to respond, so that the time for responding for a long period of time.

I know that much of the problem must be due to internet speed, but I peopl you optimize it as much as possible, for this connection speed is quite common in many federal universities, schools and even homes in Brazil, if you can resolve or alleviate the problem will be a big help.

Would implementing bug 51609 be a solution for you? Or do you specifically want linked images? In that case, a some kind of "lazy loading" of pasted linked images should be implemented.

Setting to NEEDINFO. You can close this as duplicate of bug 51609, if you wish.

It's the same problem the bug 51609, although this was also a recurring problem that has been fixed in newer versions (at least in the arch using the latest versions).

The problem is the performance by the standard method html paste (Ctrl + v) on slow connections.

As I mentioned, in these cases the libreoffice comes to stop responding, take around 2-5 minutes, even to paste content that will occupy no more than one page.

Enough to lose for MS office which is usually a performance villain.

May seek these direct data cache instead of pulling all the web can improve the situation somewhat.

It's a real problem that can affect many people, at least here in Brazil, which most connections are usually rubbish.

I reviewed this again and I think this should be a duplicate of bug 51609 after all.
Using Paste special in Writer one can avoid linking the images.
