In addition to the inverted objects described in bug 88747, activating "Use OpenGL for all rendering" also gives me crashes to desktop and a weird screen freeze sort of error when using Writer. The crashes happen with normal editing (typing) so I have no idea what prompts it nor can I provide a consistent way to reproduce. However, to reproduce the screen freeze I mention: 1) double click on a word to select it. BOOM! The workspace window, toolbars, and sidebar stop redrawing, becoming effectively "frozen". Yet LO still seems to be running normally (!) in the background. If I move the mouse around, tool-tips still pop up, as does the right-click context menu, the menus still drop down (via mouse or keyboard), and tools like "Spell Check" all work. Heck, editing still works even though I'm typing blind. The save, open file, and exit dialogues appear normally, except on opening a new file the workspace never updates. And yes, any edits I make while blind are saved. I checked for this issue in Calc and Draw as well, but Writer seems to be the only component affected.
Do you still encounter the same problem with current 4.4.4 version ? Set status to NEEDINFO, please set it back to UNCONFIRMED or to WorksForMe once you have provided requested information. Best regards. JBF
Hi Jean-Baptiste, sorry for not getting back to you on this earlier. Yes, the issue persists with LO 4.4.4.3. I'll include a screenshot as well so you can see an example of the (mis)behaviour once the screen is frozen.

"Use OpenGL for all rendering" is a work in progress. It is not surprising that it does not work perfectly in LO 4.4. On my PC I can't have this option checked without having "Force ..." option checked too. So waiting for another QA-tester. Best regards. JBF
Thanks for report - OpenGL rendering was very raw in 4.4 - if you can try again with a snapshot of LibreOffice 5.0.2 I'm optimistic that your issue has been fixed - a huge number of fixes went in (cf. the tracker) - and I imagine yours are some of them. Testing of 5.0.2 RC1 much appreciated in this mode. Thanks !
