It would be very helpful to know when an Android build was produced just by looking in the 'About' dialog. This is the easiest way to know if you have the latest testing build installed. Daily desktop builds already include this information. For bonus points, it would be great to make the Build ID a hyperlink to cgit @ FDO. Related (but I think slightly different): Bug 79438 - Add release date to the About dialog box
Bumping priority --> this will make things easier as we expand our Android testing team.
As with bug 79438, setting Severity -> enhancement
using *date* is nogo/not telling, but having clickable link to cgit (where user then can see date of commit/log) is more feasible.
Additionally, a Git log link will allow you to deduce the age of your build.
Christian Lohmaier committed a patch related to this issue. It has been pushed to "master": http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=7b946b386d18172cad2bea4c05c825eb8021131d tdf#90556 android: make buildID in about a clickable link to git log It will be available in 6.0.0. The patch should be included in the daily builds available at http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ in the next 24-48 hours. More information about daily builds can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Testing_Daily_Builds Affected users are encouraged to test the fix and report feedback.
