After downloading the latest version of LO last weekend, I was startled to see that that the previous Report Wizard, with a series of report styles, had been replaced with Oracle Report Builder! I use LO Base to keep a record my book collection, and using the old Report Wizard, a printout is 29 pages long - but using the new Oracle report generator, the list is 44 pages! So please bring back the old Report Wizard, or at least give users the choice of which one to use!
The old wizard has never been gone. I don't know how the installation works for Windows, but have just tried the following in Linux: For a local installation I choose all packages and removed the package special for Report-Builder. Then I installed the other packages for local use. When I start the wizard the old report-engine starts. Old reports and reports with Report-Builder couldn't created with the same installation yet, but both could executed, if Report-Builder is installed - which is the default since LO 4.*. Don't know why you get more pages with Report-Builder than the wizard ...
@ipcress : the change to integrate the Oracle ReportBuilder (ORB) extension for non-Linux builds was made ages ago. This extension is bundled by default for Win and OSX. You will probably need to try and delete the extension physically from within your LibreOffice application folder and restarting the application to see if you can still get the old code path to work - finding it could be fun though, as the bundled extensions mostly don't have immediately understandable names. I doubt that this will change in the future. Setting to RESOLVED / WONTFIX
