Hi! JPG-pictures with the attribute 1 ppi cannot be scaled correctly within a text-document. - This is true even when pressing the standard button, showing a 81 ppi attribute, as this probable doesn't alter the picture attribute factually. You get this kind of pictures (1 pp1) when copying internet pages to a text document. Thank you John 2015/4/25

Created attachment 115102 [details] picture 1 will lead you to the problem - that doen't exit in picture 2
I can change size of the picture without problem. Please provide a clearer set of step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce the problem.
please try: 1) click test-picture-1 (left) > (right) picture / Bild > tab 6 (cut / Zuschneiden): keep width-hight relationship (Zuschneiden: Skalierung beibehalten)(!) a) Scale (Skalierung) - width 1% / hight 1 % > shouldn't it read 100 % / 100 % so you could scale it up & down? b) Size (Bildgroesse) - width 17 cm / hight 11 cm > when changing width to 10 cm the hight remains at 11 cm, while it should change automatically to 6,7 cm 2) please try the same procedures with test-picture-2 and might see the difference of handling 1-ppi-pictures and nn-ppi-pictures (say nn=81) Thank you! John
The size of picture is 1549,4 x 1003,3 cm 15,49 cm = 1% 11,01 cm = 1,1%
Hi! What are you trying to say? How do I get 0,5 % ? Why does the side relation change by changing one side only, while it is marked to remain the same? Regards John.
(In reply to john from comment #4) > please try: > 1) click test-picture-1 (left) > (right) picture / Bild > tab 6 (cut / > Zuschneiden): > keep width-hight relationship (Zuschneiden: Skalierung beibehalten)(!) > a) Scale (Skalierung) - width 1% / hight 1 % > shouldn't it read 100 % / > 100 % > so you could scale it up & down? The size of picture is 1549,4 x 1003,3 cm 15,49 cm = 1% 11,01 cm = 1,1% I think you cannot load 1549,4 x 1003,3 cm (100%) on A4 (210x297 mm) > b) Size (Bildgroesse) - width 17 cm / hight 11 cm > > when changing width to 10 cm the hight remains at 11 cm, > while it should change automatically to 6,7 cm Really should? I doesn't see it written in help. Was it worked in previous version? https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Crop > > 2) please try the same procedures with test-picture-2 and might see the > difference > of handling 1-ppi-pictures and nn-ppi-pictures (say nn=81) I doesn't see a difference. On second picture is scale 100% because size is 13.55cm x 10.16 cm. When I change width, then height is not changing How do I get 0,5 % ? You cannot, whole numbers only. Setting unconfirmed, I have not more questions. > > Thank you! > John
You can either use another tool (paint.net) or Draw to change the ppi/dpi. In Draw it is compress image and then you can save it and bring it into Writer where you can now scale it. Windows Vista 64 Version: 4.4.3.2 Build ID: 88805f81e9fe61362df02b9941de8e38a9b5fd16 Set to RESOLVED WORKSFORME.
