Description js54434 2015-04-30 00:04:05 UTC
If you type a floating point number into a cell, such as 82.3506613199, and then shorten the width of the cell by dragging the edge of the column header to the left, at certain points the wrong digits get displayed. The default width looks like 0.91", and things start off fine, but around 0.83" the 82 gets cut off and you just see .35066132. At 0.80" things look fine again, then around 0.75" you see 3506613, without the decimal point, which needless to say is very confusing. It continues like this, alternating between the correct number and random bits of digits like "066".

FYI, the typeface is Liberation Sans, Regular, Size 10. I'm using Mac OS X 10.10.3.

Please verify if option:

Menu/Tools/LibreOffice calc/General - Use printer metrics for text formatting.

is enable, and if disable it solves the issue.

That option in Preferences is unselected.

Please, to be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you rename this LibreOffice user directory ( see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Default_location or http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/903/where-are-the-libreoffice-data-profile-files/ ) and re-test?

I tried that, and it didn't fix things. I also got a couple of error messages when reloading a complicated spreadsheet (possibly unrelated, but I'll post it in case it's helpful), which looked like this:

Error loading BASIC of document file:///Users/<user name>/Library/Application%20Support/LibreOffice/4/user/basic/Standard/script.xlb/:
General Error.
General input/output error.
