The last two times I've installed an upgrade to LibreOffice, the installation has completed most of the job and then stopped, reporting that I did not have permission to write to certain areas of my hard drive. I always log in as a (mid-range) administrator; logging out and back in as a super-secret Administrator Goddess allowed me to rerun the installation, which completed the job. The program always runs well in normal-limited-admin mode; only the installation has this problem. The computer is a Toshiba laptop running Windows 8.1 (upgraded from 8). I can do a portable installation (which does not write to the restricted area), but wonder whether the automatic update process would corrupt the portablilty feature.
What is abnormal that installing a program was allowed only to administrator? Closing as NotABug. Please feel free to reopen if you disagree. In such a case please argue. Best regards. JBF
